Today the USPS is my friend
Apr. 1st, 2005 04:12 pmYesterday was a red letter day for my snail mail. It only could have gotten better if I'd actually gotten a red letter. I finally, finally got a manga that I ordered from Amazon back in January. Ever since the last volume of Petshop of Horrors (blew goat chunks), I've been a bit leary of waiting waiting waiting with high hopes for the final volume of a series I enjoy. I swear it's like waiting a year to have all your highest hopes crushed. I fully expect Fruits Basket to do that, only it will have been multiple years instead of only one. Anyway, it was a sweet as I could possibly want it to be.
I also received my tickets for the Ulrich Schnauss and M83 concert in SF at the end of the month. Yay! Call me a geek, but I prefer to pay extra to have the tickets in my hot little hands rather than waiting for the last minute and finding out it's sold out (harsh experience talking here). I've been hearing good things about M83 in concert (ok, so it was 3rd hand, but it was a very reliable hand) not that bad reviews would stop me from going.
Finally, I got my vouchers back from my student loan from the University of North Dakota. Included were the original documents I signed waaaay back in 1996/1997 (marked PAID IN FULL - YAY!) and a charming little letter thanking me for paying. I can only imagine the exciting life my documents must have lead residing somewhere in ND for those years. Makes me wonder what other bits of paper I've signed that are lurking out there in untold warehouses. Just sitting there with no real useful purpose taking up precious space.
P.S. In case you were wondering a red letter day comes from the fact that holidays are marked in red on calendars. Wait, was I the only one wondering?
