My big search for a new place to live continues. *sigh* You know how some people love modern versions of hunting (shopping? actually hunting innocent animals? that sort of thing) well I am here to assure you that I am NOT one of them. The whole wandering around in a car looking for potential "victims" just isn't my idea of a good time (I also don't like making small awkward small talk with the property owners/managers). Alas, I'm extra lucky that one of my co-workers does! Yay! She's been great driving me around, sharing her honest opinions and generally being pretty invaluable. *whew* It's great to have friends!
On Friday we looked at several properties leased by a local property management company. They had what I felt was a pretty good system. You check out keys and take yourself to look at the apartments (no small talk with management types!). Well, we took they keys and found an absolutely great place. I was all ready to sign on the dotted line... until we found out that there were already two people ahead of me for it. *sigh* Why did they have to let me borrow the keys when it was already practically taken? Grr. By the end of the day I was pretty exhausted and generally kind of miserable.
But I must soldier on; I handed in my 30 day notice already *gulp* (that sound you hear is the sound of my blood pressure increasing). I'm looking mostly in the midtown and East Sac areas. I tried a Victorian today and *gack* let's just say I'm so not a victorian girl. I mean, I want something with way more soul than my current cesspool of humanity, but not that "soulful." I don't mind modern, per se, but no way do I want another sprawling complex like my current hellhole.
Anyway, I have three appointments tomorrow and another property management thingy all set up for Monday. Surely something appealing will rear it's head?
