but I still can't find my watch
Jul. 1st, 2006 05:52 pmYay! My place is starting to feel like home after last night's visit by Debbie and her hubby. Earlier in the day we were quite successful at Ikea and for once I was willing to admit owning an SUV could be an ok thing. But only when needing to lug huge-ass boxes of furniture home. So now I have just the right amount of furniture of the correct type. We also put things up on the wall including my huge new clock. No more wondering about the time for me (until the battery dies, anyway :) Should I taunt you all with pictures, but not follow through? I have a new roll of film and about 20 pictures needing to be wasted...
I've also been chatting with the new neighbors. One is a bit creepy and such a talker. Apparently he moved in three months ago (he'll be here for awhile) and is an erstwhile employee of Intel, but hasn't had a real job in two years. Must be nice to actually get a severance package... The other neighbor has been given his notice and will be moving out at the end of July (Yay! I found somebody to take my boxes). Seems like it was more the landlord's idea for him to go and no, he's not bitter at all about that. Heh, he remembered a certain fine arts librarian he'd had classes with at Sac State two years ago. I laugh only because he called her the "head librarian" and um, she's not but that must have been quite the impression she made ^__^
And on a completely different note, I took my little sweetie in for an oil change today. Ended up being happy to only come away with an oil change and an alignment. *sigh* I swear my car is always needing one of those; he's such a little sensitive little thing. He's been making loud crunching noises on the occasional right turn/trip over speed bumps but the repair guy didn't find anything wrong. *shrug* If for some reason I die because a CV joint is broken, make sure you have my parents sue! (just kidding!) But seriously, give my Barbies a good home :) (After all I just lugged five boxes from there to here....)
