Yep, I still love hair
Apr. 2nd, 2007 06:32 pmHad a nice, busy three-day weekend. I just love those "service" holidays - thank you Cesar Chavez! While I may not have done any service on the big day, I did do service on Saturday, so that's about as good as it gets for me. On Friday, we went to Daffodil Hill up by Sutter Creek. Heh, as per our usual, we missed the peak of the daffodil bloom, but it was still a gorgeous drive and a cute little flower place. And who could resist a flock of peacocks? I forgot my camera, but photos may or may not be forthcoming from those with digital cameras.
On Saturday I dragged myself out of bed for the last official training SPCA dog walking session. I think this means that I can start volunteering on a regular basis. Who-hoo! I'm giving myself a week "off" then I think I'll start "the fun" Wednesday mornings. Bye-bye sleeping in Wednesday mornings. *sob*
After training, I was heading towards SF for an afternoon of Scaper fun when I ran into a hideous wall of traffic around Davis. I don't do stop and go for anything - it took me about 25 minutes to go twoish miles! Ugh! And it didn't look to be improving so I turned back. Instead I took a nice walk and was swinging by work to download some music (perfectly legal music I own but wanted to transfer!!) when I got reeled in to work. Seems there was a bit of a flood in the library Friday night due to failure of boilers and whatnot. I schlepped books from one moist end of the 4th floor to the other for a couple hours. *joy* Hmm, upon reflection, I guess I did tons of service this weekend!
After slogging books around, I was all neighborly and had pizza and beer with the neighbors while the NCAA game was on. Ugh, I hate basketball, but how could I resist food and beer? Heh, towards the end there I finally got "into" the game when I noticed one of the guys had adorable hair (fortunately I wasn't too wasted so I only said "I love hair" about four times - but I wanted to say it a whole lot more :).
Sunday I sat around doing a whole lot of nothing, er I mean relaxing. Ahhh, the good life. Work was completely bearable today (despite the four hours on the reference desk) so I guess the whole weekend thing worked well. Yay!
