I apologize in advance for hideous spelling, grammar and whatnot in this entry. My brain is a bit tired because I tortured my body with two nights in a row of rice cooling from 1:00 am to 6:00 am. And you know my body just won't let me get away with being up all night without not being able to fall asleep at 8:00 am. I'm too tired to make sure that even made sense. Let's just say I've not gotten much sleep this weekend and leave it at that.
Jul. 1st, 2007
I'm trying to find the energy to write about my weekend, but I think that ALA recap just sucked up all the available writing energy. So I'll give you the outline, and maybe fill in the details later. On Friday I escaped work early and headed to SF for Potter mania!!!!!!!! Ok, so it was really a gathering of nerds at a Borders on the south side (Don't take my word for it, listen for yourself when it's posted here: http://pottercast.the-leaky-cauldron.org/ ). Heh, I enjoyed the trip if only for the company. Plus, I'll take any opportunity to get to SF without me having to drive.
We got back from SF around 11:30 which didn't really give me much time to nap before Debbie picked me up at 1:00 am so we could head to Walnut Grove for rice cooling. Yes, rice cooling. The small Buddhist church there was having it's annual bazaar and needed some labor, so I joined Debbie in Spencer in rice cooling until about 6:00 am. I was in bed by 8:00 am, but my body does not like to play with different schedules, so up I was by 11:00 and off to the Sac Scapers meeting until 4:30. I tried so hard to sleep from 6-midnight, but again my body does not play nice. At least I was able to stay awake for another night of rice cooling (I refuse to call that morning!) but this time were were done by 5:00. I'd say yay, but my body still refused to sleep after I went to be at 7:30 so I got up at 9:30 and took a two-hour walk. One can only hope that'll help exhaust my body so I'll sleep tonight. *keeps fingers crossed* I do so wish the 4th of July were tomorrow instead of Wednesday....
