Had a long and, excessive heat aside, relaxing weekend.  Maybe I'll talk about that later.  School is back in session and I can't seem to find my enthusiasm.  *boo!*

I did, however, enjoy this definition fro the OED: 

gall, v.1
1. trans. To make sore by chafing or rubbing. 
 {dag}b. to gall off: to rub off, remove by chafing.
 2. To fret or injure (inanimate objects) by rubbing or contact. 
...

I soooo, understand various uses of that word now.  Hard to believe that use b. isn't obsolete.   I'm going to start saying gall off.  Thanks OED!!
