Midtown makes me happy
Oct. 8th, 2007 09:51 pmDid I have a good weekend? Why, yes, yes I did, thanks for asking! On Saturday I went with Rachel to the Sacramento Arts Festival at the convention center. It was a head-scratching mixture of craftsy types and artsy types. I fell in love with a $140 mask-like Buddha head thingy. Very cool, urm serene, expression, but did I mention the $140 aspect? Afterwards we had dinner at Macaroni Grill. Not my first choice, but going in with low, low, low expectations really helps. I've come to the realization that I'm just not an Italian/pasta fan when eating out. Maybe it's because I'm such an "expert" at boiling water with noodles in it at home ^__^
On Sunday Phoebe and I went to Kru - a Japanese restaurant two blocks away that I've been wanting to try for a long time but have always been too broke to actually do so. I had a really good roll (just don't ask what types of fishy things were in there, I try not to think to closely about that aspect of sushi ;) and some delightful tempura asparagus. Mmmmm! I'm not sure how I'm going to resist it's siren call when I walk by it now (that's the sound of my bank account sobbing). We finished up the evening over a cup of latte at the True Love cafe. I really like the new digs a lot. Who's going to be my midtown buddy and join me there on a regular basis?
