Just a quick note to let you all know my grandfather passed away in his sleep last night. Tomorrow I'm flying to Chicago for the funeral and everything. In his memory (I swear, we share this trait) I'll make completely inappropriate comment because I can't take anything too seriously. Apparently the end of Lent is not a good time to die if you're a staunch Catholic. There're just so many masses (long ones, if I dare say so)making it difficult to schedule other uses of the church for things such as funerals.
This wasn't exactly the way I wanted to return to Chicago, in winter no less, but I think it means a great deal to my Mom and Aunt. After all, I believe very strongly that funerals are really for the living, not the dearly departed.
