Seems like I've been neglecting my poor LJ account again. Poor baby. What can I say? The job? Still causing me stress (STRESS!!). The weather? Turned bleak and sunless (not to mention, sun set is like 4:45 these days). Let's just say my tv watching appears to be spiraling out of control. I'm hardly reading. All in all, feels like I haven't got much to say.
Heh, now that I have that off my chest, I can always talk about what I like about the cold. First, I bought two (no self control!) new winter jackets (wool!) so - YAY! - I'm getting more than enough opportunities to wear them. I do love to be cozy warm when the temps get cold. And, you people who live in genuinely cold places, I'm sorry but I'm not giving up the adjective "cold" to describe temps in the 40s (in the morning).
When winter settles in, I do tend to watch more tv. Specifically, the Lord of the Rings trilogy seems to be turning into "what to watch in winter" for me. Heh, for the first time I actually picked up the next day when I had to put in the second disc. I gotta say that a night's sleep between halves seems to make me like the Two Towers a whole lot more (though I still fast forward past all the Helm's Deep battle scenes, zzzzz). I sort of share custody of the Return of the King with my brother living in Utah. I think he had possession for the first two years and now I think I've had it two years too. Does this mean I should give it to him for the next couple years, pretend I've forgotten and not mention it, or just buy him his own copy? Hmmmm....
Finally, in the most ironic turn of cold-weather related events, I had a rough patch the other week getting my shower water hot enough. *sob* After all those problems of too hot water this summer, I couldn't believe it! But I licked that problem by just turning myself into a shower lobster. My apartment does get kinda cold, so shower lobster is actually appealing at this point. Scary, I know.
