three years longer than anywhere else
Mar. 12th, 2009 07:19 pmSo, as May approaches, I can't help but marvel (ok, panic) that I've lived in Sacramento just about six years now. And once again I'm starting to get my three-year itch to move. Instead of wallowing in my usual "the grass is much more exciting over there" thoughts (seriously, where would work be all that much of an improvement over what I have right now? Socially, things could always be more exciting, but I know myself really, really well and even if I lived in a "more exciting" city, there's the whole getting myself out there to take advantage of said excitement.) maybe this time around I'll just try to find myself a new place in Sacramento to live. It sort of worked three years ago when I found this place.
And now I've got new, less than wonderful, chain-smoking neighbors *ugh* *ugh* *ugh* as extra incentive to get out. I'm definitely not in that whole buying a house place in my life (noooo way, jose. even if a million of my coworkers yammer incessantly on the "now's the time to buy" bandwagon). But I could use a few upgrades in the ways of things such as central heat and air or perhaps in a neighborhood with fewer homeless wandering by on a regular basis. Let me just say from time to time I dream of having an organized landlord. *sigh*
We'll see how long these thoughts last before the crushing reality of all the expense and energy involved in moving get me down :)
