There be grapes in the ceiling!
Mar. 6th, 2006 03:09 pmStill not doing much in the way of exciting things these days. My time has been spent in the "noble pursuit" (as wateriswine called it :) of watching tv. This past week I've seen a fabulous list of guest stars on Remington Steele and Deep Space Nine including Paul Riser, the nurse from Porkey's, Annie Potts, and Iggy Pop. Yeah, Iggy Pop played a Vorta on DS9 - I have no idea how that came to be, but I was vastly amused. Who will I be laughing at this week?
For just a pinch of variety I did see a Shakespearean play this weekend. Admittedly, Shakespeare isn't my usual cup of tea because I neither "get" him or understand him. But as it was Tempest (an alleged comedy) I thought I'd give it a whirl. Ok, so maybe I thought I'd get it a whirl because the guy in the press release looked cute (he was ^__^) AND it was a comedy. It's true that I didn't grasp everything that the characters were yapping about (Shakespeare clearly loved having his characters yap A LOT) and I was a trifle confused about Prospero's daughter being played by a male actor. But on the whole, it seemed like a decent enough production and I was entertained an hour and a half. I think I'll try to attend more Sac State productions in the future.
Oh, and I watched about 45 minutes of the Ocsars Sunday. I enjoyed Jon Stewart's opening bits, but all the prizes were going along so predictably (according to Entertainment Weekly's choices) that I couldn't take it very long. So, of course, I missed Crash's big win. I love a good upset, so I'm happy for them. Maybe I should actually see it now. Maybe.
