Big drama, little nuts
Feb. 9th, 2008 05:19 pmSeems like when there's stress in my life it's either caused by work or my stupid car. This week it was the car. When I went to move it before going to work on Wednesday, I discovered to my joy that the front passenger tire was flat (fortunately, this was after I had moved it to the correct side of the street). I feel I'm a fairly independent person, just not when it comes to cars and mechanical type problems. So I left it there until Spencer could come over and help me put the spare on. In other words, he was going to change it for me. It was all going fine until he discovered my lug nuts weren't exactly the standard size. I have two of those lug nut removal tools (no, I have no idea what they're called) - one came with the car the other I retained from my first car - but both were too large. Does this mean I have to get a third? Anyway, AAA was duly dispatched (um, I mooched the service off Debbie). And, yeah, yeah, yeah, even as we speak I'm looking into getting it for myself.
I took the car in on Saturday to the local Goodyear store and of course, they couldn't find a leak or anything. They were nice enough not to charge me for anything (even though they tested the tire and put it back on for me). *whew!* I have no idea how it got flat, but I'm not complaining too much since it seems like I got off easy this round. Now I'm just going to deny that other little car problem for a few more months...
