Here in the last half hour of work I can't help but post some headlines that are making my head explode. I'm just sayin' beware of flying bits of brains...
Apparently, Exxon Mobil's profits were
record-breaking this quarter. I know! I know! Why should I even bother being surprised by shit like this? I guess I could almost label myself "happy" that I see some gas stations only charging $2.50/ gallon of the "cheap" grade these days. But then I really can't bring myself to be happy about that.
On the other hand, gross domestic product for the third quarter wasn't
so hot. By that, I mean it was negative. Yikes! Oh, and if it's negative again in the fourth quarter - then the U.S. will officially be in a recession. I'm not taking any bets that that won't happen.
Now, from the
New York Times, I find out that women
are paying more for individual health insurance plans. Yes, even women who aren't doing child birthing related stuff. Fricking sexism in this, too? AUGH!!!! Just add this to the list of reasons why I hate the insurance industry in this country.
Good thing my shift is almost up otherwise I'd rant and rant about all these things. Instead, I'll just leave you with an image of smoke coming from my head as I stew.
